Cougars defeat Bucs for District Championship

Gabriel Llanes went six innings, allowing four hits, striking out six. Julian Santos, a UM signee, went 2 for 3. Mark Armenteros closed the game to pick up his fifth save. After South Dade cut the lead to one run, it loaded the bases.

Santos Cougars advance to District Championship Game

Julian Santos gave himself and his teammates just what they needed Tuesday night.

Santos, a University of Miami signee, blasted a pair of home runs to lead the Killian baseball team to a 5-3 victory over Palmetto in a District 16-6A semifinal at Robbie Smith Field at Southridge.

Coach Herrera Selected as Assistant for Team USA Trials

Killian Head Coach Angel Herrera has been selected to serve as the Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Coach for the 18 and Under U.S.A Baseball Trials in Cary North Carolina next summer. Herrera, going into his fourth year as the Head Coach at Miami Killian, and Fourth Year as the Recruiting Coordinator and Assistant Head Coach of the Florida Legends, will coach the AABC affiliate team at the trials.
